School of Management Studies, Ansal University, welcomed its new students on Aug 03rd and 04th, 2017. There was a footfall of more than 100 students from School of Management Studies. They were intrigued and inspired by a special session with the Vice Chancellor Sir, Prof Kamlesh Mishra. Registrar Sir, Dr. M. K. Vajpayee along with the Controller of Examination Mr. Anil Yadav briefed the students regarding the code of conduct and examination policies on campus. Head Corporate Relations Cell (CRC) Mr. Chetan Singh discussed with the students regarding their future prospects as well as how to make it to the right career. The Dean of the school Prof. Abhay Kumar welcomed the students to a brand new start. The students also met elite industry experts such as Mr. Pankaj Dubey, Managing Director, Polaris India, Ms. Vanduta Khurana, Daks India Industries Pvt Ltd., Mr. Tarun Negi, Director & Country Head - Indirect Procurement at Philips India, Mr. Jude Dunn, Business Alliances and Partnerships at Mobikwik and Mr. M.K. Khanduja – Director at Interalliance. During this panel discussion of industry experts the concept of disruptive innovation and how age should never bar you from achieving excellence. Dr. V.P. Singh who is an Adviser in Organization Development at Patanjali Ayurveda Limited tried to motivate the youth to get out of their comfort zones and try to reach out for something big. The session ended with a brief talk by Dr. Satish Kumar Kaushik on the mental and emotional health issues faced by teenagers.
The second day was a fun filled interactive ice breaking session where all the students got the chance to not only know each other but also their teachers. They also played a team building game where they were to dress up a muse among themselves using only a newspaper. This interactive session was followed by a campus tour and tree plantation. The students together planted a sapling which would grow on campus and will always remain a reminder of the SMS batch of 2017.
