Professor Anamika Paul has over 15 years of experience in various fields of Environmental Engineering. She is a Chemical Engineer with specialization in most aspects of Environmental Engineering especially in Water and Air Pollution Control systems. Her Doctoral research was conducted at Queens University, Canada and prior to that she earned her Masters Degree in Environmental Engineering from University of Windsor, Canada. She also has to her credit B.Tech from LIT and Masters from IIT Delhi in Chemical Engineering.

Post PhD she was worked as an Environmental Engineering Consultant with a multinational, AMEC Earth and Environmental, Toronto, in the field of mining and metals for more than 3 years. She is an expert in the field of wastewater treatment, air pollution modeling, odour modeling and soil remediation. Prior to this, she worked with NCB, New Delhi, and was responsible for conducting Comprehensive and Rapid Environmental Impact Assessments for Cement Plants and Limestone mines.  

Research Areas: Air Pollution Control Systems, Air Dispersion Modelling, Odour Dispersion Modelling, Water and Wastewater Treatment Systems, Reactor Engineering, Soil Remediation, Tailings depositions and Rehabilitation of waste and abandoned sites, Environmental Impact Assessments.

  • Production of Activated charcoal from waste tyres, rice husk, coconut shells for removal of colour from potable water
  • Development of Tailings Deposition Plans for mines
  • Development of Water quality model for underground connected mines,
  • Development of closure options for abandoned mines and sites
  • Acid Mine drainage control and management from mines
  • Environmental Impact Assessments projects of Limestone mines and Cement plants in Verawal, Gujarat, Ariyalur, TamilNadu areas,
  • Utilization of Refinery waste in Cement Plants

 Membership of Societies: Member of numerous international and national scientific bodies and is a reviewer for various international journals.

Currently two PhD students having projects in Air pollution Control and Potable Ground water generation projects.
